FMN donates brand new bus, Laboratory equipment and furniture worth N60m to Yaba college of Technology

As part of its continuous support for education, research and skills development in Nigeria, FMN recently donated a brand-new Toyota Hiace bus, laboratory equipment and furniture worth over N60 million to Yaba College of Technology during the school’s Annual Lecture/ Exhibition and Fundraising of the School of Technology. 

The donation which will greatly boost technology-driven skills acquisition, research and development (R&D) in Yaba College of Technology is in line with FMN’s core belief that technology and education are vital to the future of Nigeria.

The donations were made by FMN’s Group Managing Director, Paul Gbededo on Wednesday, 25th September 2019. Speaking at the event, the GMD reiterated the commitment of FMN to continue to support and contribute to the development of the educational sector in Nigeria by partnering with higher institutions in the areas of technology, research and development to boost Nigeria’s industrialization aspiration.

Gbededo was represented at the event by Olalekan Adebekun, the General Services Manager, who explained further that FMN has been supporting infrastructure development in many tertiary institutions in the country. This is to ensure that students, who are the ‘leaders of tomorrow’ have access to the right kind of education that will enable them to proffer solutions to the challenges faced by the country.

Paul Gbededo commented: “Flour Mills believes so much in Nigerian education. It is not only in Yaba Tech that we support infrastructure and technology, we equally support some other higher institutions in Nigeria, like the University of Ibadan, to ensure that students have access to a conducive learning environment. “

While speaking on the donation, the GMD said: “Flour Mills is donating a brand new HIACE bus costing us about N20 million. We are also donating some furniture to equip the classrooms, labs, the staff offices and staff quarters.”
